12/16/08 Members of the Marshall County Drainage Board awarded bids on two maintenance projects during their meeting Monday morning.
The scope of the project on the Robert Martin Ditch includes the cleaning of 3880 feet of the ditch to the original bottom starting approximately 1320 east of Linden Road then up-stream to where the ditch crosses US 6, approximately 850 feet west of Linden Road. All trees and brush will be removed.
Six companies submitted sealed bids on the project with the high bid being $10,000 and the low bid at $2,350. The low bid of Koontz and King at $2,350 was approved.
The second maintenance project is on the Lehman Ditch in North Township. The scope of work includes removing trees and brush and cleaning approximately 2500 feet of the Ditch from Maple Road on the north side of the CSX Railroad westward to the end of the ditch. Within the ditch is approximately 470 feet of 24 inch tile buried along the north side and under the railroad. All trees and brush removed shall be burned and buried.
Three companies submitted sealed bids on the project. Bids ranged from $5,100 up to $7,941. The project was awarded to Koontz and King with the low bid of $5,100.
