This Saturday, Encore Performing Arts will be hosting a ‘Parrot-Head Party’ in partnership with Dine Around sponsored by Discover Plymouth. The music of Parrots of the Caribbean offers the sounds and antics of Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Refer Band. This will be their third concert in Plymouth.
They are a high-energy, original stage show that puts the ROCK in Trop-Rock as they feature their Salute to Jimmy Buffett. Their musicianship, showmanship and outstanding renditions of Buffett’s biggest songs, along with their own original hits, have delighted audiences around the world for decades.
Together this popular group of five musicians exemplifies a wide variety of talent second to none. According to their website at www.potcband.com, heading up this very talented band is Dave ‘Cap’n C’ Albrecht, aka ‘The Voice’. The amazing similarity of his voice to that of Jimmy Buffett has astounded many listeners. Dave comes complete with props and costumes for the true feel of a Buffett show!”
In addition to Albrecht, who founded the group in 2000, are Kenny ‘Tips’ Rice, keyboardist ‘extraordinaire’ who sings backing vocals (he’s been playing since he was 8!); Gary ‘Riptide’ Rigmaiden on bass, guitar and backing vocals (and a songwriter!); Greg ‘Great White’ Martin on drums and percussion as well as lead and backing vocals who also founded the group; and Chuck ‘Deep C’ Drake on lead guitar and vocals. He thinks “music is a cure for the common cold, world hunger, war, pain, suffering, broken heart and your golf game!”

Gates open at 6:00 with the performance at 7:30. Participants in Dine Around are free. For those just enjoying the concert, tickets are $10 for adults in advance or at the gate.
