06/18/10

The Lake Manitou Association’s 5th Annual Tour of Homes will take place on Saturday, June 26th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine.

Visitors will be able to tour three fabulous lake homes by pontoon shuttle or your private vehicle.  Pontoon shuttles depart from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from the Rochester Moose Lodge or any tour home.  Tickets are $10 for adults, children 3 to 12 are half price and children under 3 are free.

Tickets can be purchase in advance at Webb’s Pharmacy, Flirt, Rochester Elks Lodge, Rochester Moose Lodge, Lakeshore Realty, and Green Oak Antiques.  Tickets will be available at any tour home the day of the event.

The home tour committee member Eileen Mawbey said the tour this year will feature several lovely Manitou homes.  They include Tom and Maureen Martin of Munster who two years ago constructed a beautiful two story vacation home overlooking the lake from the entrance of Colonial Bay.  Also included in this year’s event are John and JoAnn Hearn of Kokomo who will open their charming Boulevard Street lake home.

The Hearn family has spent many years entertaining family and friends from this elegant setting.  A gorgeous, new Manitou home is the full time residence of Paul and Juleen Henderson.  Many lake friends enjoyed watching the 2009 construction of this home as they cruised past the White Creek access area.
