Shop With A Cop in Fundraising Mode

November 4, 2010

11/05/10 Committee members of Plymouth FOP Lodge 195 have been hard at work preparing for this year’s Shop With A Cop event.

swaWindow ornaments are out in many locations throughout the county along with plastic jugs to collect loose change.  For just a donation of $1 or more you can help brighten a child’s holiday by helping the FOP raise more than $30,000 to take over 300 kids shopping at Wal-Mart in Plymouth in mid December.

Along with the window ornaments and the change collection the FOP is working on the Fourth Annual Shop With A Cop Radio Auction that will be held on Friday, December 3rd beginning at 9 a.m.  Committee members have been out collecting items for the auction.  Dozens and Dozens of items are need to raise the $13,000 to $15,000 needed to meet the goal.  Anyone interested in donating items to the auction may do so by dropping them off at the WTCA studios on West Washington Street or calling FOP President Hurshel Hunter at 952-0012.

Applications for assistance are now available by stopping by WTCA, the Boys and Girls Club, Heart and Hands and the social workers at the various elementary schools in the county.  Children selected are primarily from toddlers to junior high although younger and older children in the families are assisted too.  Applications must be filled out completely to be considered.
