12/31/10 SRI is the company currently hired by Marshall County to assists the sheriff’s office with properties up for tax sale.  SRI’s duties include everything from preparing the notice of sale, setting the sale date, answering all phone inquiries, handling the auctions and preparing all after sale paperwork such as the clerk returns and the deeds. SRI also verifies with the Treasurer property taxes are current.

SRI is capable of handling the auction on the internet with their modern technology that enables third party purchasers to work from their home or their office, thus decreasing the crowd in the lobby of sheriff’s office.

Legislation passed by the Indiana General Assembly on July 1, 2005 allows for the collection of a $200.00 per parcel fee. The sheriff sale process comes at no cost to the county taxpayers or the sheriff’s office. All expenses are paid by the mortgage companies.
