11/12/10 Plymouth Fire Chief Andy Metsker released his departmental activity report for October this week.

The Fire Department responded a total of 190 times last month.  138 calls were Emergency Medical Service calls for incidents and 15 medical assists.   Emergency workers were cancelled in route 6 times, were dispatched for 5 natural vegetation fires, 4 vehicle fires, 3 combustible spills or leaks, 3 smoke or odor problems, and 3 false alarms.

Firefighters responded to 2 structure fires, 2 system malfunctions, 2 EMS rescue calls, and 2 good intent calls.  Emergency workers conducted 1 extrication, 1 other fire, 1 hazardous condition, and 1 severe weather.

The ambulance service assisted Walkerton 4 times last month, 2 to Lakeville and or LaPaz, and 2 for Culver.  They also assisted Argos and Starke County once each.
