12/23/10 Officer Ray West with the Plymouth Police Department ended up in a vehicle pursuit Tuesday afternoon as he attempted to stop a vehicle for no license plate and an equipment violation at the intersection of Liberty Street and Pennsylvania Avenue about 2:30.
The vehicle fled east bound on Pennsylvania Avenue and then on to Lincoln Highway. The vehicle was finally stopped in Inwood.
After a brief struggle the driver of the vehicle, 55 year old Jerry L. Cochern was taken into custody. It was determined that he had previously been judged a habitual traffic violator for life. He was booked into the Marshall County Jail for resisting law enforcement with a deadly weapon and for operating a vehicle after forfeiture of license for life.
Jerry Cochern was held with no bond.
