10/14/10 The Marshall County Emergency Management Agency is alerting residents to a dangerous situation.

Due to the ongoing drought conditions and the potential for widespread fire hazard caused by those conditions, the Marshall County Commissioners have extended the current Burn Ban which was put in place on October 6th.  The Commissioners have asked citizens to refrain from open burning until conditions improve.

Prohibited activities include: Open burning of any kind using conventional fuel such as wood, or other combustible material, with the exception of grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane.  Also on the list of prohibited activities is the burning of debris, such as timber or vegetation, including leaf litter, and other such debris that results from building construction activities.   Campfires and other recreation fires are prohibited unless they are enclosed.
