11/03/10 Tuesday, voters in Indiana’s Second Congressional District chose Congressman Joe Donnelly to represent them for another term in Congress.  Donnelly released the following statement:

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the great people of north central Indiana in Congress for another term,” said Donnelly.  “I thank my family for their support throughout this campaign, the thousands of people who supported me with their votes, and the hundreds of volunteers without whom this campaign would not have been possible.

Over the past four years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting folks around the district at fish fries, parades, and basketball games; and I take the wisdom I receive from the hardworking men and women I meet to Washington.  What’s at the forefront of all of our minds is the economy, and I won’t stop until every Hoosier who wants a job, has a job.  I will continue to fight for Hoosier working families by opposing unfair trade deals that send jobs overseas, protecting Social Security from those who want to privatize it, and providing tax breaks for small businesses so they can invest in new hires and equipment.

Simply put, Washington needs less bickering, less partisanship, and more working together.  I pledge to continue to reach across the aisle to bring common-sense solutions to our communities.  Again, I thank the people of north central Indiana for trusting me with their votes.”
