Animals in need of adoption in Marshall County will be the big winners as local car enthusiasts show off their pride and joy at the P-Town Cruz’n Car Show.

The group will hold its big event on Michigan Street in Plymouth this Saturday, June 19th and the money raised will go to help the Marshall County Humane Society.

In addition to showing off some of the hottest cars around, five local pizza shops in Plymouth have decided to have a playoff of their own with a “Pizza Challenge.”

Pizza Bill’s, Bruno’s, Pizza Hut, Mancino’s and Granny’s will be selling their finest slices to win a challenge and raise money for a good cause.

The pizza shops will provide slices of pizza for $1 with all proceeds going to the Boys & Girls Club of Marshall County, and local Boy and Girl Scout Troops who will be volunteering their time to help out.

When asked why this event was planned for downtown, event coordinator Charley Campiti said, “We’ve been looking for a reason to have a car show here in Plymouth for quite a few years and this seemed like the opportunity.”  He continued, “Guys just like to have a chance to sit down together and talk about cars. It’s a non-judged show, so everybody can just relax, hang out and have some fun.”

Registration begins at 10 a.m. with the actual car show beginning at 11 a.m. Cars will back ino the parallel parking spaces along the three blocks of Michigan Street in downtown Plymouth.  The show lasts until 3 p.m. when participants will have the opportunity to take a barn quilt tour after the show.  The 45-minute cruise was set up by Tom Kleckner.  It will take the antique cars around Plymouth and will view 18 different barn quilts.

The group is asking for a $10 donation from each car entering as way to help the Humane Society.

Visitors should find plenty of parking available in the various public parking lots around the city.
