The Marshall County Convention & Visitor’s Bureau will be giving away a 4 x 4 Barn Quilt.  By purchasing a candy bar for $5.00 you will receive an entry for the drawing.  The barn quilt is called “Hands all Around.”  We invite visitors to stop by and see the quilt block and learn more about the trail and other things to see and do in Marshall County.  Funds raise through the raffle will be directly used to help continue the Marshall County Barn Quilt Trail.  The raffle begins September 9 – October 1, 2010.  The winner will be drawn on October 4, 2010.

The Marshall County Barn Quilt Trail began in the spring of 2009.  Currently there are 30 mounted barn quilts throughout the county with several in the process of being mounted or painted.  This fun and exciting project started to help promote tourism in Marshall County while combining the appreciation for agricultural heritage, artistic talent and local history.  The Barn Quilt trail also helps showcase some of the many other attractions and venues throughout the county, including local shops, restaurants and farmer’s markets.

The Barn Quilts, however, would not have been possible without the support of community members who have designed patterns, painted quilts, mounted quilts, and offered to adorn their barns, homes, businesses with these colorful quilts.
