10/13/10 Beacon Credit Union held a Grand Opening celebration to mark the opening of their newest branch office in Plymouth on Tuesday.  The ribbon that was cut to mark the official opening of the office contained $200 in cash, which was donated to the Marshall County United Way.

“The success of our financial cooperative is in part due to the tremendous support we’ve received from the citizens of Marshall County.” said Bruce Ingraham, President.  We welcome this opportunity toad a convenient location to our growing credit union membership in the Plymouth area.”

The facility marks the 22nd branch office for Beacon Credit Union.  The new branch is located at 855 North Oak Road.  This location expands the market area for people and small businesses to take advantage of Beacon Credit Union’s quality service and competitive financial products.

The one story, 3,900 square foot structure contains five enclosed offices for the branch manager, member service representatives, and loan officers.  The branch houses a conference room, for inside teller stations, three drive-up teller lanes, one drive-up ATM, and employs eleven people.  Those employed include Melissa Owen, Branch Manager; Neil Hunter, Branch Loan Officer; Amy Workman, Branch Loan Clerk; Heather King, Member Service Representative; Tasha Schwenk, Head Teller and several full and part-time tellers.

Everyone is invited to come in and see the new branch office during their Grand Opening week celebration, October 11th through October 16th. Refreshments will be served and everyone will have a chance to register to win an Apple iPad.

Beacon Credit Union began in 1931 as Wabash County Farm Bureau Credit Union.  Seventy-five people organized the credit union because they believed they could provide financial products and services for themselves better than relying on others, such as banks, to do it for them.  From its single Wabash location, the credit union has seen outstanding growth during its 79 year history with 45,000 member-owners utilizing service offices in Angola, Auburn, Garrett, Grissom Aeroplex, Huntington, Logansport, Marion, New Haven, North Manchester, Peru, Plymouth, Rochester, Wabash, and Warsaw.
