11/30/10 Sunday evening just after 7 p.m. Plymouth Police Officer John Weir and his K-9 partner Rex conducted a traffic stop on a bicycle at the railroad crossing on Lake Avenue.

39 year old Jamie D. Howell of South Michigan Street in Plymouth was traveling on the roadway and didn’t have a headlight, or reflective gear on to be visible in the dark.

Officer Weir deployed Rex, the City’s K-9 and he indicated the odor of narcotics.  During a search of the DARE backpack Howell was wearing Officer Weir located an active meth lab along with marijuana, methamphetamines paraphernalia.

Howell was taken into custody and held without bond at the Marshall County Jail.

The Indiana State Police Lab Team responded to clean up the lab.
