12/07/10 North Central Indiana lawmakers have been appointed to House committees for the 2011 and 2012 sessions of the Indiana General Assembly.

“The North Central Indiana delegation has a wealth of experience, a tremendous amount of talent and are deeply dedicated to our region,” said House Democratic Leader B. Patrick Bauer (D-South Bend), who recommended the Democrats for committee appointments. “In particular, I personally know how committed these state representatives are to job creation and quality education for all Hoosiers. They understand the needs of their constituents and will continue to fight for them. These legislators are a remarkable group of leaders, and I am proud to serve with them.”

STATE REPRESENTATIVE B. PATRICK BAUER, 6th District, is the House Democratic Leader and will serve on the Committee on Joint Rules.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE NANCY DEMBOWSKI, (D-Knox), 17th District, will be the ranking Democrat on the Roads & Transportation Committee. In addition, she will be a member of the Commerce, Small Business & Economic Development, Local Government, and Natural Resources committees.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE RYAN DVORAK, (D-South Bend), 8th District, will serve as the ranking Democrat on the Environmental Affairs Committee. He also was appointed to the Courts & Criminal Code and the Utilities & Energy committees.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE CRAIG FRY, (D-Mishawaka), 5th District, will be the ranking Democrat on the Insurance Committee. He will be a member of the Financial Institutions and the Public Health committees as well as the Select Committee on Government Reduction.

STATE REPRESENTATIVE DAVID NIEZGODSKI, (D-South Bend), 7th District, will serve as the ranking Democrat on the Employment, Labor & Pensions Committee. Additionally, he will be on the Elections & Apportionment Committee as well as a member of the Statutory Committee on Interstate & International Cooperation.
