WTCA Brings Christmas to 6 Families

December 22, 2010

12/23/10 Wednesday afternoon was the culmination of the four weeks of begging for donations of food and toys for the WTCA Annual Christmas Family Drive.

On Monday Teressa Welborn and Sherina Bottorff were joined by Babs Johnson, her two granddaughters Katie and Brittany Culp, Pat Hatter,  Judy Stone and Sarah Lindvall who spent hours wrapping presents for the 15 children in the 6 families.  All of the gifts were donated by our listeners and without that help these children wouldn’t have smiles on their faces Christmas morning.

Tuesday evening Sherina, Kathy and Jim Bottorff went shopping for food with the cash donated.  This year the families will enjoy a ham dinner with all the fixings.  They also received canned fruits and vegetables, peanut butter and jelly, the fixings for chili, tuna casserole, spaghetti, and scalloped potatoes and ham.  Their boxes included cookies, chips, candy, cereal, pancake mix, syrup and more.

There was food for a week including eggs, butter, cheese, carrots, potatoes, onions, milk, orange juice and more.  Meats included a ham for each family, hamburger, hot dogs, a roast, and bacon.

Plymouth F.O.P. Lodge 195 was very generous to help us again this year.  We also have a couple of Christmas Angles that have gone above and beyond each year.  Whether you gave a can of green beans or soup, a cake mix and icing, a board game or a book with stuffed animal without each and everyone helping us we would not be able to help these families in their time of need.

WTCA is so thankful for you, our listeners and we want to take a minute to say Thank You in the very biggest way possible and Merry Christmas to each and every one of you.
