11/22/10 The Plymouth High School spell bowl team finished just 3 points away from 2nd place in the state finals earlier this month. They placed fourth with a score of 74.
Coach Amy Schmeltz was very pleased with their performance. “It was their highest score of the season. They are a very young team, so we hope to be here again next year.”
Ten spellers perform at state with the other students serving as alternates.
The spellers for Plymouth were Elizabeth Oviedo, Dana Hall, Krissy Wieringa, Nate Mahan, Zach Mahan, Ashley Stokes, Pauline Dagaas, Kelsey Schnieders, Abby Schumacher, and Grace Stokes. Plymouth’s alternates were Tori Godwin, Dakota Bradley, Olivia Houin, Angel Figueroa, Rachel Garcia, and Zandra Norris.
The team would like to thank everyone for their support.
