12/09/10 The Plymouth Fire and EMS Department would like to formally announce promotional changes within the department. Firefighter/Paramedic Deanna Cleveland has been named as the Assistant Chief – EMS for the Plymouth Fire Department. Firefighter/Paramedic Cleveland is a five year veteran of the Plymouth Fire Department as a career and volunteered with the service prior to that. Cleveland will be responsible for the medical direction and compliance issues for the Department. The position also is a dedicated liaison to the department’s Medical Director and to the area EMS transport agencies that we work with on a normal basis.
Firefighter/Paramedic Mark Berger has been named as the Chief Paramedic. Firefighter/Paramedic Berger has been a member of the department for seven years as a Firefighter/Paramedic. His position is responsible for all medical supplies and the inventory of those supplies within our station.
Firefighter/Paramedic Randy McMillen has taken on the responsibilities of Firefighter/Paramedic Training Instructor. Randy has been with the department just under one year but has worked as a Firefighter/Paramedic for eight years for the Goshen Fire Department prior to coming to Plymouth full time.
Two new personnel are now in the process of becoming full time Firefighters/Paramedics with the Plymouth Fire Department. Conditional offers of employment with the Plymouth Fire and EMS Department have been extended to Erik Cox and Melissa Belt. Erik Cox has been a volunteer with the Plymouth Fire and EMS Department for over eight years. He worked to achieve his Paramedic license four years ago and has worked as a Paramedic for both a private transport agency and in emergency response with his current employer, Fulton County EMS for the past year. Erik is a lifelong resident of Plymouth. Melissa Belt is a resident of the Bremen area and a current volunteer for the LaPaz Fire Department and Union/North EMS. Melissa received her Paramedic license in the spring of 2010 and has been working as a paramedic with Tri-County Ambulance service since that time.
