10/22/10 Thursday morning before the sun came up employees of the Plymouth Park Department converged on the Conservation Club House to set the stage for last night’s Spooktacular sponsored by the Park Department and the Boys and Girls Club.
What they found was scary.
During the overnight hours of Wednesday to early Thursday someone came on the park department grounds and decided to smash approximately 30 pumpkins that had been donated to the event by Blake’s Pumpkins of Muckshaw Road.
Workers had to pick up pumpkin pieces and seeds prior to being able to put all the items in place for the annual Halloween festivities.
Although the day started off on a sour note, there was the sweet smell of success as hundreds of children enjoyed the haunted trail hay ride, face painting, straw maze, costume contest pumpkin bowling and much more.
