The 2010 Marshall County Blueberry Festival was a huge success.

Connie Hotzwart, Festival Coordinator said there was a record attendance on Sunday at the Festival and also for the hot air balloon glow and fireworks.  She said, “I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a record attendance over all.”

Not only did people come out to the Festival, they also spend some money.  Hotzwart said many of their vendors confirmed record breading profits.  Nedderman’s Beef Tips in the non-profit section has been coming to the festival for 17 years.  Sunday they had their best day ever.  The Worldwide Church of God booth sold homemade blueberry donuts…there were multiple lines that at times were 12 to 15 people deep.  They sold out early on Sunday and Wayne Smith from Tom’s Tasty Taters gave thumbs up when asked how the weekend was for him.

Mega-Passes were a hot ticket items.  Last year the Blueberry Festival sold at 1,000 so this year they doubled the amount.  A total 1,601 passes were sold and over 1000 pay-one-price wrist bands were pre sold.

Hotzwart said “Everything went smoothly.  The Kids Area was really popular this year and I would like to give kudos to everyone involved from the trash haulers, to the vendors, and those who parked cars.  Without everyone’s assistance this festival wouldn’t be so great.”
