The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) announces traffic on U.S. 31 will be restricted to one lane in each direction at the railroad tracks north of Argos beginning Tuesday, September 7. The railroad will repair the crossing at that location.

Beginning Tuesday, southbound traffic will be shifted to the northbound side of the highway. Once track repairs are completed on the southbound lanes, northbound traffic will be shifted to the southbound side of the highway to allow repairs on the northbound tracks.

The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September; however, the schedule is subject to change in the event of inclement weather.

During this work there will be width restrictions for wide loads travelling on U.S. 31. Northbound trucks with wide loads will be directed east on State Road 110 (S.R. 110), north on State Road 331 (S.R. 331) and west on U.S. 30. Southbound traffic will be directed east on U.S. 30, south on S.R. 331 and west on S.R. 110.

INDOT reminds drivers to use caution and consider worker safety when driving through a construction zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit www.in.gov/indot.
