Whitko overpowers Pilgrims

December 22, 2010

The Plymouth Pilgrims had a tough task Wednesday night in South Whitley.  They faced an experienced , #10-3A, Whitko Wildcats who stood battle tested with a 59-41 win over the Pilgrims.

Whitko (6-1) made a 2nd quarter adjustment defensively that caught Plymouth off guard the rest of the night.

“We (Plymouth) simply could not handle their trap.  We knew they did it.  We practiced for it all week.  We still couldn’t adjust.”, said Varsity Asst., Tony Plothow during the Post Game Report.

The loss means a third straight defeat for the Pilgrims heading into Christmas.

“We didn’t want that to happen.  This team is losing, but not for the lack of effort.  The effort  is there, we just have kids that have been asked to play roles that they are unaccustomed to playing, little lone on the varsity level.  I believe we kids who play on the varsity level, they just have to believe.”, added Plothow.

Leading Scores:    Plymouth:   Joe Knapp w/ 10 pts
