09/27/10 On Thursday, September 23rd about 1:30 p.m. the Marshall County Police Department received a call from a person who believed he may have witnessed a theft in the 9,000 block of State Road 17.

The witness told Officer Bruce Carter that he saw a two ton blue van stop in front of a house in the neighborhood and two young male subjects loaded up a generator that was along the driveway and put it in the van. The van then went east toward Plymouth. It was believed that there were three subjects in all.

One suspect was wearing a bright red shirt. The van was described as a 1970’s to 1980’s two tone blue Chevy or GMC van that may have a raised roof.

County police made contact with the resident where the theft occurred. She was unaware of the incident. The generator removed was a Briggs and Stratton 3500 watt peak, which is red with two wheels.

Area police agencies were immediately notified but the van was not located.

Anyone who may have information on this theft or knows of a vehicle matching this description is urged to call the Marshall County Police Department. 936-3187.
