WTCA to Broadcast Ancilla Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games

November 5, 2010

11/06/10 Ancilla College Athletics has announced an agreement with Plymouth-based radio station WTCA AM1050 to cover a total of 10 men’s and women’s basketball games during the 2010-2011 season.

Under terms of the agreement, WTCA will cover seven men’s basketball games and three women’s basketball games during the season – including a pair of doubleheaders on November 20 and February 5.

Fans can listen to the broadcasts by tuning into AM1050 or by logging onto and clicking “Listen Live”.

“WTCA is once again proud to affiliate ourselves with Ancilla College in airing 10 basketball games this season,” said WTCA Sports Director and Ancilla College alum Tony Ross.

Ancilla College Athletic Director Gene Reese expressed his pleasure with the renewed partnership between Ancilla College and WTCA.

“Tony Ross is the voice of Ancilla College,” said Reese.  “He graduated from Ancilla and is an important part of our ‘Charger Athletic Family.’  We are thrilled to have him back with the family announcing 10 of our men’s and women’s basketball games.  Now, 10 of our games will be able to be enjoyed over the internet by family and friends through WTCA.  We only wish it could be more.”

WTCA’s Scott Masters will handle play-by-play duties for most of the games.  Masters brings a wealth of experience in producing sporting events over the radio, having spent time at “The Score 670” in Chicago and sports seven years of experience at WTCA.

Ross will broadcast several games as well.

“I am excited to have WTCA be a partner with us for this upcoming season,” said Ancilla College Assistant Athletic Director and Women’s Basketball Coach Dave Liverance.  “This is another step in the right direction in building our program.”

Men’s Basketball Coach Greg Neeley agreed with those sentiments.

“Not only is this another great way for us to connect with those interested in our program, but with online streaming, it is a great way to have our games broadcast to any listener with an internet connection.”
