05/20/11  Plymouth Police and EMS responded to 611 Berkley Street Wednesday afternoon at 3:45 in response to a single vehicle accident in the parking lot behind Plymouth High School.

Officer Jason Dobbins responded and found a 2001 Chevy passenger van that had struck a light pole in the lot.  The driver, 29 year old John Premetz, a teacher in the Plymouth school system and an assistant baseball coach told the officer that he was driving through the PHS parking lot preparing to load players on in the van for an away game.  He said him mind was on other things.  He made a left turn in the middle of the parking lot and did not see the light post that was directly in front of him until it was too late.

The impact that was made with the pole caused Premetz to strike his head on the steering wheel leaving a large cut on his head.  He refused medical treatment at the scene.

The vehicle sustained damage to the front end and frame.  Police estimated damage to the vehicle to be $5,000.
