Family Portraits for Neighborhood Center Families

May 5, 2011

05/06/11  Clients of the Marshall County Neighborhood Center received a unique and lasting gift during the complimentary family portrait day held recently. Andrea Ridenhour of The Biography Spot had taken pictures during the Neighborhood Center’s annual fundraiser, Dancing with the Stars”. She then decided to use her photography skills to benefit clients of MCNC by offering free family portraits.

Over 30 families were given a portrait session complete with two 5 X 7 prints and eight wallet sized pictures of the pose of their choice, just in time for Mother’s Day.

Ridenhour said, “When I heard Sara Hill and Sarah Hendrix speak at the “Dancing with the Stars” fundraiser for the Neighborhood Center at Swan Lake in February, I was impressed with their efforts and their genuine concern for the clients who receive services from the MCNC.” She added, “The idea dropped into my heart to make a contribution to this very worthy organization.  The most obvious choice for me, as a photographer, was to offer a free family portrait session…everything fell into place pretty quickly. “ On Wednesday, April 27th, I set up my equipment in the Center and photographed from Noon to 7pm.  I stayed busy quickly moving from photographing a family of 6 adults to photographing a 3 year old with her 17-day-old sister.  I had fun creating lasting memories for all of the families who participated. “Ridenhour said.

Ridenhour is now making plans to offer the service again.
