09/23/11 One block of Center Street was closed on Wednesday as workman relocated a storm catch basin and upgraded the lines between two basins. According to Larry Hatcher of the Plymouth Wastewater and Sewer Department, the drain was being relocated into the curb from the street and the line between two catch basins at the corner of Garro St. and Center St. was being upsized. Hatcher said the work would help alleviate some of the standing water problems experienced in the area.
Similar upgrades have been made this year to basins at the corner of Walnut St. and North St., Walnut St. and Center St. and North St. and Center St.
Moving the basins into the curbs keeps motorists from having to drive over the basins, according to Hatcher.
