11/02/11 Members and guests attended a baked potato and salad bar at Plymouth First United Methodist Church Sunday, Oct, 30 after the morning church service. The luncheon was planned and served by the 175th First United Methodist Anniversary Committee. During the past year the committee has found unique and meaningful ways to help the congregation celebrate their heritage.
Retired minister David Hogsett acted as emcee for the event. Associate Pastor Matt Pickut opened the meal with prayer. After the delicious meal of baked potatoes, homemade salad and desserts, Committee Chairperson Kay Finlay and Reverend Larry Marhanka recognized the 50 year members of the church. As Finlay called each 50 year member’s name, Reverend Marhanka presented each member with a packet that included a certificate, a Book of Reminisces and a Methodist cross and flame sun catcher.

The congregation will end its year long celebrations with a combined service. The early and late morning services will meet in the sanctuary on Sunday, November 20th at 10:00 a.m. so they can all worship together and say thank you to the 175th Anniversary Committee. Sunday School will meet at 9:00 a.m. as usual. For more information call the church at 936-2943.
