06/24/11 Officer Derek Workman with the Plymouth Police Department investigated a two vehicle crash on Oak Drive at the intersection with PIDCO Dr. on Wednesday afternoon at 3:23. 

His investigation of the crash revealed that 29 year old Bill Downey of Plymouth was south bound on Oak Drive in a 2001 Ford Mustang in the driving lane.  A semi was in the passing lane waiting to make a left turn. Downey had the green light and proceeded into the intersection when a north bound 2003 Ford Focus driven by 68 year old Viola Hilt of North Judson turned in front of him.  The Mustang struck the Focus on the passenger’s side door. 

Both vehicles sustained major damage. 

Bill Downey was not injured in the crash.  Viola Hilt complained of pain in the chest and a passenger in her vehicle, 49 year old Marilyn Couts of Plymouth was trapped for a short time and had an abrasion to her head.
