The 3A-8th ranked Plymouth Pilgrims improved to 6-0 on the season thanks to a 69-44 win. Plymouth got off to a good start until the five minute mark of the first quarter where the Plymouth defense struggled giving up a lot of backdoor baskets.
“I felt that was a key moment to get things changed. I challenged their effort and we began to play basketball. I also felt we handled Logan Irwin better in the first half, than the second half, but he’s just a very good player.”, said Head Coach Ryan Bales.
Plymouth shot an impressive 53% from the floor, won the rebounding stat 37-25 and had 3 less turnovers than Whitko.
“We some great contributions off the bench again. Conner Flynn gave us some great minutes. Ike Kastner again made some good plays. (Kyle) Kaser once again slowed down Whitko’s inside game. And how about Tom Felke? He comes off the bench and hits 3/4 from outside. We were able to spread our minutes around to everyone in hopes to conserve energy for the Penn game.”, added Bales.
Mack Mercer led in scoring with 18 pts. & 6 rebounds. John Ruff added 12 pts & 7 rebounds. David Lee had an impressive 8 assists by the end of the night.
Plymouth will face Penn High School Thursday night. WTCA Pre-Game Show will begin around 7pm.
