08/23/11 Democrats representing ten counties from the 2nd District met last week in Plymouth to officially endorse three candidates. This was the second meting for the group, having met inSt. Joseph county last month.

CountyChairsand vice-chairs pledged their support behind Joe Donnelly, Brendan Mullen, and John Gregg.

Donnelly, who currently serves in United States House of Representatives, is seeking a seat the U.S. Senate. Mullen has thrown his hat into the race for the seat held currently by Donnelly and Gregg is a candidate forIndianagovernor.

Chairing the meeting was 2nd District Chair Butch Morgan. Morgan said, “Theses are candidates who have mid-western values.”

Mullen, his wife Suzanne and baby daughter Lilly were guests at the meeting. Mullen is aWest Pointgraduate andIraqwar Army veteran. He helped start and run a small business that grew under his leadership from one employee to over 110. Later, he created his own consulting firm specializing in strategic planning, strategic communication, and information technology.

Donnelly also attended the meeting and lent his support to Mullen. Donnelly said, “He is definitely the right man for the job.” Donnelly has been serving in Congress since 2007.

 

Gregg served in the Indiana State House for eight terms, rising to the office of Speaker of the House. He served as the interim President of Vincennes University from 2003-2004 and currently practices in the Vincennes Office of Indiana law firm Bingham McHale.
