12/29/11 On Monday, December 26th around 9:30 p.m. Marshall County Deputy Les McFarland was on routine patrol in the Tippecanoe area when he conducted a traffic stop on State Road 331 for an equipment violation.  The driver of the vehicle was 20 year old Zachare Hooker of Tippecanoe. Officer McFarland detected a very strong odor of burnt marijuana emitting from the vehicle.  The marijuana was recovered from the passenger of the vehicle later identified as Ethan J. Vojtasek 18, of Rochester.  During the investigation and search of the vehicle McFarland recovered a .44 Magnum Ruger Handgun.  It was determined that the handgun belonged to another passenger in the vehicle, identified as Kevan D. Secrist 19, of Rochester. 

The three subjects were transported to the Marshall County Jail where Secrist was arrested for carrying a handgun without a license, a class A misdemeanor and given a $750.00 cash bond.  He bonded out on December 27th at 12:30 a.m.  The driver, Zachary H. Hooker was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated under a controlled substance a Class C misdemeanor along with possession of Marijuana.  His bond was set at$1000.00 cash and he posted bond at 6:05 a.m. on the 27th.   Ethan J. Vojtasek was arrested for possession of marijuana, a class A misdemeanor.  His bond was also set at $1000.00 cash and he posted it at 12:25 a.m. on the 27th.

The three men are scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on January 24th at 8:30am.
