12/19/11 During an investigation which has lasted several months, Detective Sergeant Neal Wallace with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department solved 14 related burglary and or theft cases in Marshall County. Twelve of the cases occurred in Polk Township, one in North Township and one in West Township. They happened between September 23, 2010 and August 8, 2011. The investigation also solved three cases that occurred in St. Joseph County.
During the burglaries and thefts, lawn equipment and tools were the main items targeted. As a result of the investigation six lawn tractors, a snow blower, a racing cart stolen during a theft in Nappanee and some tools have been recovered, owners of these items have been notified.
In regard to the investigation charges have been filed against David Rice of Walkerton, William Brady JR of Walkerton, Brian Graham of South Bend and Angela Linback of Walkerton. A report of the investigation has been forwarded to the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office for review and possible charges on additional suspects including a juvenile from Walkerton.
During the course of the investigation the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Walkerton Police Department and the Indiana State Police.
