12/07/11 America in Bloom promotes nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements.  America in Bloom provides educational programs, resources, and the challenge of a friendly competition between participating communities across the country.

In July, Plymouth was judged in eight criteria: tidiness, community involvement, environmental awareness, heritage, urban forestry, landscape, floral displays, and turf and groundcovers across three sectors: municipal, residential, and commercial.

The America in Bloom Report Meeting for their Plymouth review will be tomorrow (Thursday, December 8th) in the Plymouth Public Library’s Laramore Room beginning at 7:00pm.  The meeting agenda will entail an overview of the America in Bloom program, the judge’s report as well as projects and fundraisers for 2012.

This meeting is open to anyone interested in assisting in the beautification of Plymouth.  For more information, contact Mike Woolfington at the Convention & Visitor’s Bureau. (936-1882)
