Ramirez, a midfielder and striker, is a three-star recruit according to Top Drawer Soccer and has lettered all four years at Coronado, helping the team earn a ranking of 16th in the state of Texas according to ESPN Rise.
“Carlos is an extremely crafty player who can create for himself and others,” said Ancilla men’s soccer coach James Drzewiecki. “He’s the kind of player who can pull off the unpredictable and put the opposing defenders in uncomfortable positions. He’ll be a very nice addition to the squad.”
Ramirez is a two-time First Team All-District selection for Coronado and a Second Team All-Region pick in 2011. He helped Coronado earn back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in the Texas 1-5A Playoffs, including this year’s 1-0 loss to eventual state champion Southlake Carroll, the team ranked second in the nation by ESPN Rise.
On the club scene, Ramirez plays for Texas Fire ’94 and has helped the club win the President’s Day Soccer Festival, the Plano Labor Day Invitational, the Disney Soccer Showcase, and the Nomads Thanksgiving Tournament.
