06/01/11  The Argos Town Council was informed that there is only one company that does asphalt resurfacing in the area.  At a previous meeting John Archambeault, Utility Department Supervisor, presented the Council a quote from Asphalt Restoration Services to resurface 12 sections of street.  Council Member, Linda Jones requested more quotes.  At the next meeting John explained that Asphalt Restoration was the company that several other companies use to subcontract the service.  Asphalt Restoration will heat the asphalt that is on the street to 1,200 to 1,400 degrees.  This will make the asphalt bubble up.  They will then reroll the area and the asphalt would be “like new”.   This guaranteed for three years but the treatment has been lasting up to 5 years.  “This is not a cure all but it has extended the street life till we can find the money to pay to pave it.” John explained.

Police Chief, Rod Rudd, informed the Council the hiring of David Carroll.  David has been employed by the Rochester Police Department for 10 years.  David will be replacing Travis O’Neill who went to work for the Marshall County Sheriff Department.
