02/07/11 Recently the Guidance Department at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School received results for the ISTEP+ Graduation Exams also known as End of Course Assessments (ECA) for exams taken in December of 2010.

Members of the Class of 2012 and beyond are required to pass End of Course Assessments (ECA) in English 10 and Algebra I in order to earn an Argos High School Diploma.  If students do not pass their ECA, they will have an opportunity to retake it once every semester through their senior year.  Students are enrolled in remediation courses where they receive individual help to strengthen their areas of weaknesses.

Thirty-four students took part in the December 2010 Algebra I ECA testing at Argos.  Of these 34 students, 9 had never taken the test before due to completing Algebra I this past summer and 25 did not pass the test upon their first attempt last May.  Twenty-nine students passed the December 2010 Algebra I ECA for an 85% PASSING PERCENTAGE.

Eleven students took part in the December 2010 English 10 ECA testing at Argos.  All 11 students did not pass the test upon their first attempt last May.  Nine students passed the December 2010 English 10 ECA for an 82% PASSING PERCENTAGE.

So for the Class of 2012 (current juniors), 92% have passed the Algebra I ECA and 96% have passed the English 10 ECA.

The Guidance Department at Argos Jr.-Sr. High School would like to congratulate students, parents and staff who have worked together to earn these great results!
