05/20/11 The Argos School Board announced several donations for the school system at their meeting last Monday night. Jim Ringer donated $150 to the Argos Cheerleaders for the cheerleading program. Channel Seed donated $500 for the Argos FFA program. Lowe’s Tool Box for Education has granted $9,500 for new playground equipment for the elementary school.
The changes in the handbooks for the Elementary and Jr/Sr High Schools were approved. It was questioned the need to state “No books were to be taken to the Lunch Room.” It was explained that some students would purposely leave the books in the lunch room so they would be able to come back during the class to retrieve them. If the student wants to study they could use the library.
The Argos School approved certificate of appointment to the Argos Public LIbrary Board. Lori Cox and Barb Brown are leaving and the School Board has appointed Bev Barrett and Donna Overmyer.
