03/30/11 Dave Walker, Council President, updated the members of the Argos Town Council of the negotiations with INDOT concerning Michigan Street.  When the 31 bypass going around Argos was established, INDOT had an agreement with Marshall County to maintain Old 31 north of Highway 10.  INDOT also had an agreement with Argos for the one mile of the road in the town’s limits.   Through the years INDOT was responsible for the snow plowing and maintenance of the road.  They now want to turn over the responsibility to Marshall County for the county road and to the town of Argos for Michigan Street.  Dave told the council that INDOT has offered $200,000 to Argos for their consideration.   They are still in preliminary discussions.

Argos will once again offer a Large Item Clean Up this spring.  On April 6th and 20th, residents of Argos will be able to dispose of their unwanted items that are to big to fit in the trash containers.  Appliances must be tagged showing that the chemicals have been removed.  Construction materials will not be accepted.  Also, paints, chemicals and used computer components should be taken to the Marshall County Solid Waste District Management on Walter Glaub Drive in Plymouth.
