11/24/11  On Thursday, October 20that 4:20 p.m. the Marshall County Dispatch Center received a report of a two vehicle traffic accident at the intersection of US 30 and King Road.   It was reported that a passenger car and a semi- tractor were involved with one patient being entrapped within the car. County Police Officer Jeff Snyder in the investigating officer.  His report indicates that a 2002 Buick LeSabre, driven by 72 year old Frances M. Long of Bourbon was traveling north on King Road crossing over US 30 when she pulled into the path of an eastbound semi-tractor with a dump trailer, driven by John Horn of Fort Wayne. The semi struck Long’s car in the driver’s side door.   Mrs. Long, the only occupant of the automobile was extricated from the vehicle and transported to the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth.  The driver of the semi was not injured.County Coroner Bill Cleavenger confirmed that Long died at 5:48 p.m. of injuries sustained in the crash.   

Marshall County Police were assisted by personnel from the Plymouth Fire and EMS.  The accident remains under investigation.
