10/21/11 A Bourbon woman was killed in a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of U.S.30 and King Road.

Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger confirmed that 72 year old Frances M. Long of Bourbon died in the emergency room of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Plymouth at 5:48 p.m. from injuries she received in the crash.

Mrs. Long, who was wearing a seat belt, died from blunt force trauma due to a side impact collision with a semi-dump truck that was east bound on U.S. 30.

Toxicology reports will not be available until later this weekend.  Cleavenger said that he does not believe that drugs or alcohol were involved with Mrs. Long but these tests are mandatory in any fatal accident.

The accident remains under investigation by the coroner and Marshall County Police.  Indiana State Police and Plymouth Fire & EMS assisted at the scene.
