The impressive  football season continues for the 12-0 Bremen Lions who became one of two undefeated football teams left in Class 2A play after a 28-6 win over Lewis Cass Kings.

“Kids played very well tonight.  I am so happy for our 18 Seniors on this team.  They are our leaders and continue to set an example of what hard work and dedication can do for a team.”, said Bremen Head Coach Bob Holmes.

The Lions scored three touchdowns on their first three possessions to jump out to 21-0 lead after the 1st quarter.

“We came out and wanted to get momentum early.  We did.   I just wanted to do my part.”, said Bremen quarterback Nate Leeper.

That’s what Leeper did, throwing for 211 yards going 15/21 passing, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions.

Cass did well slowing down Bremen’s run game, holding them to 113 rushing yards, but selecting to stop Braxton Miller didn’t give the Cass defense an opportunity to slow down the passing game.

“Other than the two interceptions, I like the fact we took care of the football.”, said Holmes.  “We have had a problem with that aspect this season.  We have to be mistake free from this point on as teams are going to get tougher to play, so there is no room for mistakes from now on.”

The Lions travel to Wheeler for a Regional Championship title next Friday.   Both teams are the ONLY TWO UNBEATEN teams left in Class 2A.

WTCA will be bringing you all the action next Friday night.  Gametime is TBA.
