08/10/11 The Marshall County Church Orchestra Ensemble Group performed at Wakarusa Miller’s Assisted Living on Saturday, August 6.  The group played a variety of gospel hymns and Broadway and movie standards.  Leader Don Harness gave the history of the orchestra through out the program and also told a little about each song that was played.  The Wakarusa residents enjoyed singing along with the familiar hymns.

The full Marshall County Church Orchestra will play their third in a series of

“Concerts in the Park” on Sunday, August 14 at The Argos Community Park.  The concert is free and open to the public.  It begins at 6:00 p.m.  The park may be entered from State Road 10 or from 16th Road.

The concert list for the evening includes, but is not limited to:  “Canadian Shield March”, “Austrian Hymn”, “Rhapsody In Blue”, “On Wisconsin”,  “The Old Rugged Cross”, and many more.   The Argos Walnut Church of the Brethren Choir will be the guest artist for the evening.  The choir will sing under the direction of Judy Hall and then join with the orchestra on a song.

The Concert in the Park series is traveling to different Marshall County parks this summer.  It provides a relaxing evening of family fun.  Patrons are reminded to bring their lawn chairs and a picnic supper.  Light concessions will be available for purchase with proceeds going to the orchestra.  For further information call the orchestra public relations coordinator Cindy Flagg at 1-574-952-3661.
