CMA Wins 1st Game in Regional !

March 12, 2011
By

CMA Basketball continues to play on.  In the first game of the Crown Point Regional, Plymouth played a youthful and talented Andrean 59′er squad, outlasting them 61-55.  Spearheading the charge was Senior PG Jermaine Meyer with 18 pts and 8 assists.  Not to be outdone, CMA also got offensive support from freshman Hayes Barnes who added 19 pts including a 5/8 day from outside the arc!

“Our kids played very well.  Hayes (Barnes) was outstanding today.  Hitting some KEY three’s throughout the ballgame.  I thought Jermaine Meyers was a real floor general out there today as well.”, said CMA Head Coach Mark Galloway.

The Eagles shot in the upper 50% range all game long, finishing for the game 22/35 (63%).

“I felt Cheir (Ajou) put up some key points, especially in the first half….I think he finished with 11.  Willie Strong just simply played hard all game long.  I’m proud of these kids and their accomplishments.  They’re doing things people have told them they can’t do.”, said Galloway.

The Western Panthers are the next Regional opponent tonight.  Western upset last years State Runner-Up’s Gary Wallace 69-65.

WTCA’s Pre-Game Show will be at 7:20pm tonight on am1050 & am1050.com.  Join Tony Ross & Scott Masters for all the action.    Tip-Off scheduled at 8pm.
