09/07/11 Blueberry Idol had a great turnout again for the second year of the karaoke contest, sponsored by Jason “The Champ” Nichols of Attitude Entertainment.

Local youth Hannah Himes once again stole the show in the youth category, singing “Stuck Like Glue” to a full crowd Friday at the amphitheater. Himes was also the inaugural winner in 2010. The teen then challenged adult winner Gregory Enders of South Bend for an outright title. The adult winner sang an animated Eddie and the Cruisers’ “On the Dark Side.”

In the end, the crowd applause ended in a tie for the two, who both were awarded $50, a gift certificate to Mikey’s Pizza Pit Stop in Argos, a Blueberry Festival T-shirt and a sash proclaiming their “Blueberry Idol” title.

Hannah and fellow youth contestant and runner up Sierra Strickland also rode in Attitude Entertainment’s float in Monday’s parade, singing along the parade route.

“Celebrity” judges were Jack Clark, Rick Cooper and Chad Morlan.

Look for Idol to return again at the 2012 fest, Friday night at the amphitheater.
