04/07/11 Coleman Cable Inc., located in Bremen received a WorkOne Achievement Award for partnering with WorkOne to create employment opportunities for local Hoosiers. The award was presented today in a ceremony at the Indiana Statehouse.

Recently, Coleman Cable’s Bremen office utilized WorkOne services to assist in their search for employees with very specific skills experience and knowledge. WorkOne offered support in the form of On-the-Job Training grants and customized hiring events. On-The-Job Training is a WorkOne program in which employers are reimbursed up to 50 percent of new employee wages for on-the-job occupational skills training. These WorkOne services have resulted in several job placements to date.

“WorkOne’s collaboration with Coleman Cable helped the company fill their positions and provided several individuals with new employment opportunities and skills,” said Mark W. Everson, Commissioner of the Department of Workforce Development. “This is a prime example of a successful partnership that benefits the Hoosier employer and job seekers.”

Coleman Cable, Inc. is a worldwide leader in the development, design, manufacture and distribution of wire and cable products. They have established themselves as one of the premier US-based manufacturers of electrical, electronic and assembled wire and cable. Their products are used in the security, sound, telecommunications, electrical construction, retail, commercial, industrial, irrigation, HVAC and automotive markets. Coleman has two locations in Indiana; Bremen and Lafayette.

Twelve awards were presented to employers who partner with WorkOne for their contribution to growing Indiana’s economy and commitment to their community. The Indiana Department of Workforce Development also awarded 12 individuals with WorkOne Achievement Awards for their outstanding accomplishments while participating in the workforce development system. All of today’s recipients were nominated for the award by their local WorkOne center.
