04/04/11 Now that the weather is starting to turn a bit warmer work will begin again on the Pioneer Drive improvement project.

Ron Wireman the county’s construction observation manager for the project from DLZ said they are planning to close Pioneer Drive from Lincoln Highway to Jim Neu Drive on Tuesday, April 5th.

The public will have access to the County Correctional Facility’s west entrance off of Pioneer Drive until April 12th at which point the access will be changed to their north entrance off of Jim Neu Drive.

Additional signage will be placed to help guide the public to the Correctional Facility’s north entrance and to the public parking area as well. There will be additional work being done on the new section of Pioneer Road, south of Lincoln Highway as well but the road will remain open.

Wireman said, “We just ask that you drive with caution as the construction workers are out there on the road doing their jobs and thank you for your patience and understanding.”
