08/25/11 Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter is pleased to announce that the Consul General of Mexico in Chicago, Mr. Eduardo Arnal Palomera will be visiting Plymouth on August 30th  at 3:15 pm in the Council Chambers at the back of City Hall. 

 This Consulate covers the whole state of Illinois, Wisconsin as well as the northern part of Indiana. 

It will be a brief visit just to introduce the Consul General and what services they provide to the Mexican community as well as a good chance to foster cooperation, particularly taking into account the growing presence of the Mexican population around our area.

 

 

Eduardo Arnal was appointed Consul General of Mexico in Chicago by President Felipe Calderon and ratified by the Mexican Senate March 24, 2011.

Consul Arnal holds a degree in law from the Universidad del Pedregal in Mexico City. 

In 2007 he was ratified by the Mexican Congress as Consul General of Mexico in Denver, Colorado and served in the position until March, 2011.

In 2003, Consul Arnal was City Manager of the City of Atizapan de Zaragoza, State of Mexico.

From 2000 to 2003, Consul Arnal served as a federal congressman in the Chamber of Deputies, Mexico’s House of Representatives, in the 58th Legislature. During his tenure, he was a member of the Commission on International Relations and the Commission on Strengthening Federalism.

In 2002, he participated in the National Democratic Institute’s Political Leadership Program in Washington, D.C.
