10/10/11 Requests for additional appropriations are on the agenda Monday’s Marshall County Council Meeting.

Sheriff Tom Chamberlin will be seeking a General Fund additional for the purchase of three new squad cars for his department.  Last week he told the County Commissioners that 4 or 5 2011 Crown Victoria Police Cars have been located and Oliver Ford can obtain those vehicles for a price of $23,094.  The Sheriff would like to purchase 3 vehicles for a total of $69,282. In exchange for purchasing the vehicles this year, the line item in the 2012 budget would be reduced that same amount.

The second request for additional funds is from Marshall County Coroner Bill Cleavenger.  There was no explanation on the agenda for the request.

The final request for an additional appropriation comes from Maintenance Director Rich Ulrich and County Commissioner Jack Roose.  They will be seeking funding for window and door replacements for the County Building.

Other items on the County Council meeting include transfer requests, approval of the September 12th meeting minutes, and the 2012 Salary Ordinance.

The County Council meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the second floor meeting room of the County Building. The public is welcome to attend although comments and questions are limited to agenda items only.
