08/30/11   Officers with the Marshall County Police Department investigated several burglaries last week.

Marshall County Police Department responded to the 3,000 block of Michigan Street in reference to a theft on Wednesday, August 24th around 3:30 p.m.  Between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and unknown individual broke and entered the residence and stole a gold cross containing diamonds and emeralds on a gold chain, and a Ferrari watch with a silver band.   

Then sometime between Tuesday, August 23rd at 7:15 a.m. and Wednesday, August 24th at 6:00 p.m. an unknown person entered a home in the 600 block of US 31 in Lakeville and removed a home stereo system and a jewelry box.  The person(s) also ransacked the victim’s residence. 

On Wednesday August 24th the Marshall County Police responded to the 400 block of US 31 in reference to another burglary.  Someone had entered the home during the daytime hours.  Items taken are still being inventoried, the investigation will continue. 

Again, on Friday August 26th at 1:29 p.m. Marshall County Police responded to the 2000 block of US 31 in references to another burglary.  At approximately 5:00 a.m. an unknown person attempted to gain entry into the victim’s residence by trying to pry the back door open.  The person (s) was unsuccessful and left the area.  The victim also reported that a GPS unit was stolen from a truck approximately one week earlier.  

Then at 2:14 p.m. on Friday August 26th an unknown person attempted to gain entry of a back door in the 2000 block of US 31 at approximately 5:00 a.m.  The person was unsuccessful and left the area.
