08/03/11 On Thursday, July 28th at approximately 6 p.m. Patrolman Jonathan Bryant with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of U.S. 30 and Pioneer Drive.  The driver of the vehicle, Preonda L. King 27, of Fort Wayne was found to be operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license.  King was transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was booked in with a $750.00 cash bond.  She is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on August 30th.

Later that evening Patrolman Bryant conducted another traffic stop around 8:00 p.m. in the Red Rock Inn parking lot located at 2520 North Michigan Street.  Driver, Michael J. Young 26, of Rochester was found to be in possession of two handguns.  Mr. Young was unable to produce a proper license to carry the handguns and was taken into custody at that time and transported to the County Jail where he was booked in with a $1500.00 cash bond.  Mr. Young will also be in Marshall County Superior Court #2 on August 30th at 8:30am.

Then on Friday July 29th around 9:00pm, Patrolman Brandon Cooper was southbound on Michigan Road on routine patrol in the LaPaz area when he witnessed a vehicle attempt to enter the highway from South Street almost causing an accident.  Cooper then witnessed the vehicle commit another traffic violation.  At that time Officer Cooper performed a traffic stop on the vehicle at Michigan Road and Vintage Street.  Through the investigation it was determined that the driver, Dan Thompson 57, of Plymouth was intoxicated.  Mr. Thompson failed a field sobriety test, and a portable breath test showed that Mr. Thompson alcohol level was above the legal limit.  Mr. Thompson was transported to the Plymouth Hospital where a certified chemical test was performed.  After the test was conducted Thompson was transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Operating While Intoxicated-Endangering a Person, and Operating While Intoxicated with a BAC above .08 or more.  His bond was set at $1000.00 cash and he was given a court date of August 16th at 8:30am in Marshall County Superior Court #2.
